Jesus said "By their fruit, ye shall know them" (Mathew 7.v.20)
This is the realm in which one is conscious of danger, threat and the struggle for survival - Reaction to life situations is one of "fight or flight". Here one tends to identify oneself with the physical body and the physical environment.
At this stage in human evolution, a person's character is vengeful, capricious, quick tempered, full of jealousy, intolerance, eager to punish or reward, even though at times this is tempered with mercy - always wanting to get back at whoever hurts or criticizes us - always anxious to justify our words and actions and ways of thinking and Being. We feel extremely angry if we feel we have been treated unjustly - We can only see our own side of a situation and we want everybody else to do the same - and are unhappy until we see an enemy punished, especially if we are proved to be the innocent injured party.
We find it difficult to understand why anything unpleasant should happen to us. We ask "why me?" We think everybody else is in the wrong except ourselves.
The main aim of someone who is trapped in the first chakra is survival in the physical world. In order to survive we learn how to cope with danger and lack of food and comfort and safety and shelter and human contact. Even when someone is religiously inclined, one's chosen form of worship is riddled with fear - alternating anxiety and loving devotion, uncertainty and ambiguity. Here the whole of our life-style revolves around survival, self-protection and the maintenance of our creature - comforts. Even though this is at the lowest level of human existence it does demand a lot of courage and great strength to go on with the struggle in the face of loss and abandonment and lack. A ruler or boss or Pater Familias in the grip of the first chakra is impassioned, tyrannical and domineering, whose subordinates certainly don't have an easy time of it.
Instead of finding the world a beautiful miraculous and wonderful place, he finds it full of evil and frightening - of course such a viewpoint can only be the subjective interpretation of how he chooses to see it. The world can be a Paradise to some, while it is purgatory or hell to others. It all depends on one's outlook, and one's outlook presumably depends on what chakra we are in!
The beauty of this whole spiritual set up is that we can move ourselves by personal effort of will from one stage of evolution to the next, by choosing to change the way we think and the way we feel, and to find out the truth about who we are, where we're going and what we are supposed to be doing in the world - how we're meant to fit into the plan of the Creator of it all.
Now, as far as placing Uri Geller in a specific chakra, its going to be very difficult, if not impossible - because he seems to have a finger in every pie or rather a big toe in each of the seven chakras' pool of consciousness. He certainly learnt the art of bare survival, which is what one goes through at chakra number one. Not only has he survived - but he lives in opulence, and has made it possible for himself, his wife, his children, his mother and his brother-in-law Shipi to live in opulence for generations to come.
